The phylogenetic position of Sri Lankan wild hare (<em>Lepus Nigricollis Singhala</em>) is yet to be determined. Therefore, mitochondrial DNA D-loop of three Sri Lankan wild hare samples were studied. Phylogenetic analyses revealed that Sri Lankan wild hare clustered as a basal separate branch consistent with the phylogenetic position of other isolated population. Limitation of the current data did not permit us to make any further conclusion; therefore, more research evidence is still required.</p>}, number={3}, journal={Journal of Wildlife and Biodiversity}, author={Kumara, U.G.V.S.S. and Hirimuthugoda, Nalini Yasoda and Madusanka, T. and Ediriweere, A.N. and Dayarathne, M.C. and Adeola, Adeniyi Charles and Olaniyi, Wasiu A.}, year={2022}, month={May}, pages={103–107} }
